  1. I loved your lesson. The amount of time and effort you put into your planning with all the extra details goes to show that you love what you do.

  2. This is exemplary! You followed the ADDIE model for this project! Well planned and executed! Great analysis on how the technology is being used to support or enhance students' learning outcomes! :D

  3. I agree with Professor Hsu, the way this follows the ADDIE model and the way you turned fun games into an educational lesson for student was clever and seemed to work great! You put a great deal of work into this project and I'm glad it paid off!

  4. This is a great use of educational gaming technology. I am sure your students loved using the games and didn't feel like it was "school work". I like the way students were allowed to play with game at the onset of the class. One thing I found interesting during my lesson was how much more readily the students took to the technology than did my cooperating teacher. Great job!

    1. Thanks! Yea it doesn't take much to convince kids to try out new technology, teachers can be a different story.

  5. You have created a lesson which focused on students' basic skill for reading. The time you you allocate for the lesson is appropriate. Students learning is based on the fiction story which I think is a good idea because language learning needs context.

  6. I am always looking for new exciting tools to use with students. Now, I learn more about Starfall and Game Goo. I am a little skeptical to use gaming to cultivate new literacies because students could easily get sidetracked. But you demonstrated a great use of gaming in classroom. It serves its purpose of improving phonetics and letter recognizing skills. And who doesn't like games? Great motivational tool and attention grabbers for students, especially those with autistic disorders. I also like how you divided your lesson into two parts where students worked together in the first part and became independent in the second part.

  7. I am very impressed with the planning and the implementation. Great choice on the website to reinforce the letter recognition and the decoding skills. You are right. The website doesn't go in order so teachers may need to structure their guided instruction carefully to not to cause students' distractions. That being said, you and the ELA teachers managed it very well to keep the students engaged on tasks and focus on the learning (letter recognition and decoding). Did you or the ELA teacher see any students' behavioral changes due to the use of technologies or any increased focus/attention on the task engagement? This lesson is so exciting and can be a interesting action research project. Brilliant work! :D
